
CHURCH BODY – BCAN is a multicultural population stemming from the Greater Taunton Area (60% being from Taunton and 40% from the surrounding areas. The Church body consists of people with a wide variety of occupational and educational backgrounds and ranges from young families to retirees. The present participating membership is approximately 80.
FACILITIES – The church is a 15 year old, well maintained building, and is completely handicap accessible. It is located in the center of Taunton, MA. Handicap parking is available directly in front of the building. There is a Mother’s Room used for children ages infant through 2 years. BCAN also has Sunday School classrooms for Kindergarten through Adults, Pastor’s Office, Secretary/Treasurer’s Office, Conference Room, a Sanctuary that seats 225 and Fellowship Hall that seats 125.
ASSOCIATIONS – TABCOM (The American Baptist Churches of MA, USA) The Old Colony Association, and The Taunton Clergy Association.
ANNUAL EVENTS – Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, Black History Month, Church At the Park (Sponsored by the Taunton Clergy Association), BCAN Business Meeting, 30 Hour Famine, Iron Sharpens Iron, Men’s Palm Sunday Breakfast, Sunday School Rally Day.
MISSIONS BCAN SUPPORTS: St. Vincent DePaul Shelter, Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, Samaritan House Homeless Shelter, Angel Tree Ministry, and Teen Challenge.
GOALS FOR THE FUTURE – Outreach to the community- BCAN will continually establish yearly goals and evaluate the accomplishments semi annually.
